Got my order today. 3 bags with a few potatoes, herbs, pasta and 4 oz chicken. I could have bought this in the grocery store. Wait I have. I don't want to pay someone to go shopping, deliver it and then take 45 minutes to prepare and cook. Didn't waste my time putting it in the fridge. It was put in the garbage immediately. Never ordering again. High sodium, have to cook myself, have no idea how this got 9.8. I have to order food now. Thanks alot
Horrible customer service. Friend spent 60 on gift card and they suspended gift cards for coronavirus. This was given to help us following the death of our daughter. When we went to redeem I spent an hour trying to get the food box sent to me. They refused but said the gift card would be valid at a later date. I explained the situation and they hung up on me twice. Gift cards are a con and costumer service is horrible. Stay away.

Please be aware this is fake company, charging you without consent and not refunding my balance
Highly disappointed
First shipment has rotten produce, second box just never showed up. They refunded the money for the second box but really didn't care that the meals I was expecting to use all week just never showed up. Box was said to be "returned for inspection" to fedex. That's just a little weird, in my opinion. So, out of the two weeks I ordered, one box had rotten potatoes, and the second box just never showed up. Don't bother with this company.
I trialed Hello Fresh for 2 weeks and really enjoyed the flavor of all the meals. I love trying new grains, vegetables, and seasonings and got hooked on a few new food items in just the 2 week trial. I did cancel my subscription after 2 weeks, however, for a few reasons. First, the freshness of produce left something to be desired. In my first week, an onion in one meal kit went bad and molded within 3 days of delivery. In the 2nd week, my "fresh" carrots went completely limp and bad within 4 days of delivery. I have carrots in my fridge from 3 weeks ago that still aren't limp or bad so I'm not sure how the Hello Fresh produce is spoiling so quickly unless they are using poor quality food to begin with. Second, I had missing ingredients in 40% of my meal kits from both weeks of my trial. I understand a missing ingredient now and then but the consistency concerned me, especially for the price of the meal kits. If I am paying a premium price for someone to compile and ship ingredients to me, I don't want to have to go purchase or make missing ingredients on my own. I contacted the company about the missing ingredients and was given a $17 credit on a future box. Not very helpful given that I've already cancelled my subscription. Overall, I can't recommend Hello Fresh to friends and family and I won't be resubscribing either. Between missing ingredients and poor quality produce, it's just not worth the premium price for this subscription.
I was very disappointed! One of my friends referred me to get 3 free meals, just paying shipping. I ordered the meals and after they were delivered, I looked in the bags and NONE of them provided the meat. Guess I won't be using them again!
The meals are small and the quality is not always great. Our most recent chicken meal, for 4 people, had two chicken packets, one of which was very, very rubbery.
Also, the price has been going up significantly since we started.
Finally, if you are on a diet with some restrictions, there's very little you can do to avoid something like salt. The overall meal has a nutritional content label, but none of the individual ingredients do.
For example, suppose you want to avoid salt. The label tells you how much sodium is in a serving, but if the instructions tell you to add a certain amount of salt, and you decide to omit that, you have no way of knowing how much sodium the altered recipe will have.
After complaining about the rubbery chicken, we were given a $15 credit on our next meal. But I'm not sure there will be a next meal...
HelloFresh was decent a few years ago but now the produce and ingredients sent are sub-par and the recipes only so-so. On the whole the groceries for a typical recipe, for 2, would run you about $10-12 at the grocery store, so the food isn't worth it. Save your money and buy your own groceries.
I received my first box this week, and it looked like there was not enough food, but after making the first two dishes, I was pleasantly surprised! I find the recipes are delicious, and the flavors are excellent. I will admit, I have to add extra seasoning only because I am a master on how to season food, but for the most part, I really like the food!
The food is ok they just cram and smash the food in to small boxes if the food doesn't fit put in a bigger box. The presentation is horrible
We thought we would try Hello Fresh for the convenience of having our food delivered. Our first meal was their version of moussaka - a vegi version, no meat. That was ok but it was not as good as traditional moussaka. Next morning we were both in pain with stomach cramps and needing the toilet every couple of hours. Four days on and we are still not better. I'll never trust a meal delivery company again. I wonder what hygiene is like in their packing area.
Honestly what a horrible company.
I’ve been a customer for about 3 months. I receive a first responder discount, so it makes the price decent. I’ve received 7 meals with vegetables missing, or rotten. I just went to make my Gouda vibes burger, was super stoked and they forgot the whole dang meal. I only received the meat. I’ve waited and strayed away from leaving them a negative review because mistakes happen but this is pure negligence and it continues to happen.
*UPDATE* The company did finally reply after a few days. Customer service said they couldn't stop the order from shipping (this was a Thursday, it shipped on Monday---makes me wonder how "fresh" it is). They said to enjoy it and that they would refund the amount charged. I did appreciate that and feel like they did the right thing to rectify the situation.
I just think they need to improve their accessibility and communication. Original review: I received a "gift" from a friend. I had to of course sign up with an account and pay shipping for this "gift". What they do is automatically subscribe you. So I went to cancel the subscription after I received that "gift", I went on a Thursday and they had already charged me $80 for two meals for the next week. I was pretty upset and tried calling--on hold for 20 minutes so I went to chat--all robots. I emailed 3 times, no response. I called the number on my bank statement and it always said "we're having technical issues, try again later"--that was over 3 days, calling every day. Impossible to reach a human. I have yet to hear back from any of my attempts, it's been days. So now I'm out $90 for basically 2 meals. I could buy a week of groceries for that. Not impressed and I would NEVER recommend them for the reason that they are deceptive.
As for the food, it was fine, but I don't understand why people do it. You still follow a recipe and cook--so why not just buy groceries? You will save a lot. And there is a ton of packaging. If you get the "4 serving" size, they give you 2 packages of everything instead of one larger package. Yuck.
In sum: Not ethical, not environmentally friendly, not cheap. A big NO from me!!
Needs a little more variety in the meal choices
